Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to ensure compliance with health and safety laws, develop safety policies, promote a safety culture, track performance, and effectively communicate with clients and other stakeholders. The Health & Safety Manager will play a critical role in creating a safe work environment and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

  • Health and Safety Planning and Compliance

Develop and execute comprehensive health and safety plans, ensuring compliance with legal guidelines.

Establish policies to cultivate a safety culture and assess risks for compliance purposes.

  • Training and Awareness

Conduct training sessions to raise employee awareness of Fire and water health and safety matters. (Air side understanding will be required.)

  • Monitoring and Corrective Actions

Monitor compliance with health and safety policies and regulations.

Inspect equipment, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions when needed.

  • Performance Tracking and Reporting

Track health and safety performance metrics.

Report on health and safety metrics to management, stakeholders, and clients

  • Collaboration and Improvement

Collaborate with managers to improve health & safety, environment, and well-being practices.

Helping the team to understand the needs and obligations to follow the rules and low in UK.

  • ISO 45001 Certification

Lead the implementation of effective management systems to achieve ISO 45001 certification.

  • Client Communication

Effectively communicate health and safety guidelines, performance, and initiatives to clients.

Experience running audits internal audits and representing the company during the annual external audits.

 

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a safety management role, preferably in airline catering or related industry.
  • Minimum NEBOSH General certificate
  • NEBOSH Dip, CMIOSH, IOSH, IFSM desirable
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety laws, regulations, and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Airside experience will be preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail in identifying hazards, assessing risks, and recommending improvements.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) to convey guidelines and reports effectively.
  • Leadership abilities with a track record of implementing health and safety initiatives.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently or collaboratively in a busy environment.
  • Experience leading large teams with high level of stress.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for data-driven decision-making.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
  • Comprehensive understanding of food safety and hygiene practices in the catering industry.
  • Management experience in property, development, or aviation-related fields is beneficial.
