Job Description
DO & CO is looking for a ESG Reporting Specialist to support our efforts in adhering to international environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting standards. The ESG Reporting Specialist will play a key role in collecting and auditing non-financial data, ensuring compliance with evolving ESG regulations like the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and producing insightful reports that align with our sustainability goals. This position is vital in helping the company track performance, identify new sustainability opportunities, and contribute to a circular business model.
- Support ensuring that reports meet all local and international ESG requirements, working closely with various departments to provide necessary data and insights for regulatory submissions.
- Gather, process, and analyse non-financial data from internal functions, supply chain, and distributors to ensure comprehensive and accurate reporting aligned with CSRD and other global ESG standards (e.g., ESRS, EU Taxonomy, GRI, TCFD).
- Perform checks on ESG data, identify inconsistencies, and provide actionable recommendations to enhance data quality and reporting accuracy.
- Support developing and sharing performance reports that allow management to track progress against ESG targets, identify new opportunities for environmental impact improvement, and enhance operational sustainability.
- Participation in preparing and submitting internal and external ESG reports on a monthly and quarterly basis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with public reporting standards.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of emerging regulations, assess their impact on the company’s operations, and ensure timely adjustments to reporting practices to meet compliance deadlines.
- Work closely with internal teams (compliance, finance, legal, and IT) and external partners to ensure all reporting data is accurate, timely, and aligned with sustainability goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Accounting & Finance, Business, or a related field; equivalent professional experience in ESG reporting will also be considered.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in sustainability, ESG reporting, financial reporting or financial / non-financial auditing within an international organization, with a focus on preparing and drafting the ESG sections of the Annual Report.
- Working knowledge of CSRD reporting requirements, ESRS standards, EU Taxonomy, and associated metrics.
- Proficiency in MS Office programs, especially Excel
- Proven project management skills, with the ability to handle large quantitative and qualitative datasets effectively.
- Experience in engaging effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- English and German communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to simplify complex information into clear and understandable reports and presentations.
